About The Story

If you've read my personal blog, you're probably heard me mention this story once or twice. Or a lot of times, heh. This story is so, OLD. I remember it so well because I was writing it for a long time and it was the few I actually FINISHED. As in, I reached THE END. That's a rare thing for me! If you've come across me writing about it, I may have said it was the most violent thing I ever wrote, the crappiest thing I ever wrote, how The Hunger Games made me wanna give up, this, that and the other... well, let's take it right back. I wrote this waay back in 2010, and basically, this story was never really original to begin with. That's also rare for me. I love making things as unique as possible, sometimes I don't put as much work in as I should, though.

I was inspired by the Battle Royale film - I was so awed by the idea, my overactive mind began running that idea through the mill, over and over, thinking of how many different ways this story could be spun. I ended up thinking, to hell with it, I'll write a story based on the vague idea of a battle as a game and see how it goes. PROBLEM. I started to become attached to these characters I created in a big way. Some were drawn from celebrities, others were from a cast call. But my work on their characters had begun to set. I no longer wanted this to be some crappy B5 fanfic. I wanted to take it further.

However, I couldn't do that without major work, and by the time I'd thought of it my head was deep into writing The Urban Piper, which is my best work to date not counting Out Of The Dust (temporary name c: ) This blog was made for the simple reason of sharing it with whoever cares to read, seeing as it was already posted on thenewb5online forum.

I got so many people to thank, those who dipped their toes in, others who stuck it out with me until the end. Nicole, Tally, Chante, Carmela, Shaire, Crystal, Lani, Stephany, Jasmine, Marie, Miya, Rashana (and Hassana, also she wasn't in it). You guys were in it so I remember you most, heh. Then some of you came back for Round 2 (Battlegame Mutate) some of you were new; Lola, Skittles (Joy. I know it's you, Joy.), Camara, Kamaria, Kiki, Nikki, Aaliyah, Raven, Tae, Tie (GOOD LORD I never realised that so many of you had similar names!!!!) - and Hassana was in this one =]

Then of course, I started a Round 3 (- ?!!!) which was Battlegame Planet, and Tae, Shaire and Carmela were still around to support me! After so long, as well. I really appreciated that. (I never finished it but hey ho, no surprises there. =P )

I'm sure I've missed out somebody, and for that I apologise! I'm so grateful to all of you for even caring what I read. I don't have the heart to change much of the crappy banners I made using Microsoft Word and Paint, or to think too hard whether I should do line-spaced paragraphs or indented paragraphs, or even the story that much (which at times doesn't make sense) because it's all memories. Writing this now in 2013, three/four years later,I still feel the same way. THANK YOU DUDES. You are awesome.
